A Note to New Students in Continuing Education
If you are a new student coming into Continuing Education, please take a moment to read the following information about your username and password for Blackboard at Continuing Education. This will provide you the information you need to access Blackboard.

For our current students, your information will remain the same. No changes have been made to your usernames or passwords, so continue to use the ones you currently have.

User Name (your unique identifier) = UND Umail Username = firstname.lastname

All students, full-time faculty, and full-time staff have been assigned an e-mail address, @und.nodak.edu or @und.edu, even if they use a different mailbox (i.e. @mail.und.nodak.edu, @hotmail.com, etc.). To use this email account, it requires activation. To activate your account, go to the ITSS web page (http://umailact.und.nodak.edu/umail/index.jsp)

This creates a unique identifier, known as the UND Umail Username. This identifier, which comprises the first segment of the default UND U-mail e-mail address (firstname.lastname@und.nodak.edu), serves as the User Name for the DCE Blackboard. (For example, jane.doe is the UND DCE Blackboard Username for the e-mail address jane_doe@und.nodak.edu.)

NOTE: Your best bet is to try your full firstname.lastname.

CampusConnection UserID minus the "W" followed by the last four digits of your social security number. NOTE: Some program areas send emails with your password listed in them, it may very from the default password listed here.

(Ex: Tom Student’s CampusConnection UserID (W0111122) minus the “W” will be 0111122 and the last four digits of his social security number are 2233, making his initial password 01111222233. All students should change their password right away and often during the semester.

Please Note: There are some exceptions. International students who may not have been issued a social security number will use “9999” in place of the last four digits of SS # for their initial password.

Changing Your Password

Upon successfully logging into Blackboard, under the Bb Home tab, proceed to the Tools section and select Personal Information and then select Change Password. Follow the directions in this section and then click the SUBMIT button. You only have one Blackboard password; and any changes to your Blackboard password occurs across all Blackboard courses in which you are registered.

Enter your information in the Lost Password page. You will receive a response e-mail message within 10-15 minutes with access and instructions to make the password change.
