DM 3970: Nutrition Assessment
This course focuses on appropriate nutrition screening and assessment as ways of providing cost effective care. Nutrition assessments evaluate a person's health considering historic, anthropometric, dietary, clinical and laboratory data. With these tools, the health care team can identify a client's specific needs, plan and implement appropriate strategies and evaluate the results. The RD is usually the care team member who does the assessment. However, information can be gathered by a trained dietary manager or dietetic technician.
