  If the student has a minimum of two years of experience in a supervisory capacity in institutional foodservice, the student may request a waiver from 100 hours of non-nutritional related field experience requirements. Dietetic Technician AAS Degree

The University of North Dakota’s Dietary Managers Course has been approved as a launching program for the University of Minnesota Crookston’s Associate in Applied Science Online Dietetic Technician Degree. Students successfully completing the Dietary Managers Course through UND and receiving their national certification through the Dietary Managers Association are eligible to enter UMC’s Dietetic Technician program with advanced standing, waiving the first 15 credits (7 courses) of the Dietetic Technician online degree.

Waiving the first 15 credits of the Dietetic Technician program by first taking the Dietary Managers Course has several advantages for students:

    • 15 credits at UMC will cost the student $150/credit for a total of $2,250 plus textbooks for seven courses
    • The Dietary Managers Course through UND is just $450 plus textbooks for the whole program
    • You save $1,800

    • Complete the Dietary Managers Course in one year
    • Seven courses at UMC would span several semesters
  • Earn Additional Credentials
    • When you pass the Dietary Managers national certification exam, you can earn the credentials CDM, CFPP (Certified Dietary Manager, Certified Food Protection Personnel)
