ServSafe is
a food safety education program sponsored by the
National Restaurant Association. It has become the
industry standard in food safety training, and is
accepted in almost all United States jurisdictions
that require employee certification.**
This Food Safety course meets the requirements
for ServSafe certification when
the student successfully completes the correspondence
course, and passes the national certification examination. ServSafe examinations
are completed in your local community using a proctor
approved by the National Restaurant Association.
Eligible proctors include approved human resource
professionals, Food Management Professionals (FMPs
that have taken a ServSafe course,
and successfully passed the examination), health
department officials. It is the student's
responsibility to find a proctor for the certification
examination.
This correspondence course includes three workbook
lessons based on the required textbook. It is approved
by the Dietary Managers Association for 18 continuing
education hours in sanitation and for 2.2 CEUs
