What is the Clinical Forum on Mental Health: Turning Knowledge into Practice?

On behalf of the North Dakota Department of Human Services, we invite you to join us for the fourth annual Clinical Forum on Mental Health: Turning Knowledge into Practice. Our goal in planning the Clinical Forum is to support and encourage a statewide system of quality mental health services. This Forum seeks to educate professionals from multiple disciplines in evidenced-based practices that promote the well being of children, adults and the elderly.

The Clinical Forum is designed to not only instill newfound skills and knowledge, but also to challenge you to think about the how’s, what’s and why’s of our system of care. We hope to provide you with information on how to implement evidenced-based, promising programs that will enhance mental health services. Sessions are designed to act as a guide to you, with speakers representing a national, regional and local approach. You will learn how to turn knowledge into practices you can use.

Here's what participants said about the 2007 Clinical Forum on Mental Health:
  • I greatly appreciated the "tracks" offered so that one could focus on areas/topics of interest or practical use and/or choose to step outside of their expertise.
  • The variety of disciplines from out-of-state and Fargo presenters added excellent input.
  • The wide variety of topics and the way it's set up to offer concurrent sessions - allows for attendees to choose topics of interest to them.
  • It's great to come together and gain knowledge of the expert presenters.
  • The different perspectives/views that the presenters presented.  The speakers made the Forum interesting, informative and a great learning experience.
  • I like having the opportunity to attend sessions where I do not have a strong knowledge base.  I like the variety of sessions (information) offered.
  • Presentations regarding current practice - was refreshing to hear!
  • Being able to apply what I learned in what I do.
