Bachelor
of General Studies (B.G.S.)
The Bachelor of General Studies degree offered through the College of Arts & Sciences provides students with a broad, multi-disciplinary education through completion of traditional liberal arts courses.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 30 semester credits completed through The University of North Dakota
- 60 semester credits completed through a four-year regionally accredited institution
- Complete a total of 125 semester credits (36 of which must be of a 300 level or above)
- Maintain a 2.0 GPA
- Complete the General Education Requirements
- Follow curriculum approved by the College of Arts & Sciences

Concentrate your education in Social Science related-fields by taking a variety of courses in Anthropology, Economics, Geography, History, Political Science, Psychology,and Sociology. The B.A. program permits you to achieve a moderate concentration in one field and complementary work in all others. NOTE: If you wish to complete a “teaching major” in Social Science, you should follow the BSEd program in Social Studies (see UND Department of Teaching and Learning listing at www.und.edu/dept/tl).
