All applicants who have graduated from high school
in 1993 or later must have completed the core high
school requirements listed in the UND Undergraduate
Catalog, OR they must have completed 24 semester
hours from a regionally accredited college (via
on-campus enrollment or correspondence study) with
a minimum GPA of 2.0 in order to gain admission

must be sent to the UND

If the applicant has attended another college
or university, transcripts must be sent by the
registrar of that college directly to the UND Office
of Admissions and Records. If fewer than 60 semester
credits are being transferred, high school transcripts
must be sent by the high school directly to the
UND Office of Admissions. Some colleges
require a fee before they can send transcripts.
To ensure adequate time to process the application
materials, completed applications should be received
by UND at least two months before the start of
the first Distance Engineering Degree Program class
to be taken.
Within one month of the date of application, the
applicant should receive: (1) a letter indicating
the admission status, or (2) a post card indicating
items that are missing (e.g. official transcripts
have not been received from other colleges, etc.).
If an applicant does not receive a letter or a
post card from UND within a month, the applicant
should check with the UND
Office of Admissions or call toll free at 1.800.CALL-UND.
If the applicant receives a post card, it is the
applicant's responsibility to respond with appropriate
action. For example, if transcripts are missing,
the applicant should contact the appropriate college
to ensure those transcripts are sent to UND. If
nothing is heard from UND within another month,
the applicant should contact the UND Office of
Admissions verifying receipt of information.
After an applicant has been admitted, the applicant
will receive an evaluation of transfer credit from
the UND Office of Admissions. The evaluation
indicates classes that have transferred to UND.
About a month later the applicant will receive
a status sheet from the SEM indicating the classes
(of those accepted by UND) that apply toward the
engineering degree. Some courses that are accepted
by UND may not satisfy any of the requirements
for an engineering degree.
If no classes are taken within three years of
application or admission, all files and records
are destroyed. If the student completes at least
one course at UND (including correspondence and
Distance Engineering Degree Program courses) the
student's files and records will be permanently
retained.
If a Distance Engineering Degree Program student
has taken Distance Engineering Degree Program classes
and has skipped a semester (summer is an exception),
the student should complete a Request
for Readmission form and forward it to the
Office of Admissions. In addition,
a transcript should be requested from the college/university
if courses were taken at another institution during
that semester the student was not enrolled at UND.
