Distance Engineering Degree Programs (Online)
BS in Chemical, Civil, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering

'

Welcome to the beginning of the semester. Please have text books and all material prior to the first day of classes. There is a lot of information below which will help you in preparing for the beginning of classes.

Blackboard
(login and password information). This is where you will access your online lectures. Population of students into the Blackboard sites will begin a few days prior to classes beginning. If you do not have access by the first day of class please let us know. The link to Blackboard is: http://online.und.edu/ , click on User Login. Username is: your student ID number including the "W" (example W0111122) and the Password is your student ID minus the "W" followed by the last four digits of your social security number (example 01111227456). If you did not provide UND your social security number or you do not have one use 9999 as the last four digits.

DEDP Computer Requirements

Software Installation Setup
Click on the link above to install software needed to view the online lectures.

UND E-mail Account
(U-Mail) - UND requires that each student activate their UND email account, this is the official email of UND and is the only email for which you will receive campus wide messages. If you have not activated your U-Mail account yet follow the instructions below:

  • Go to the UND home page: www.und.edu. On the left of the screen you will see "U-Mail".
  • Click on the U-Mail tab, a screen will pop up, U-mail Web Access, click on Help in the upper
right hand corner, then on "Activate your U-mail Account Now"

Homework
should be submitted by email (preferred) or fax. Homework should be written dark enough to be reproduced legibly. Leave a ½ inch margin on all sides of the page, if you do not the information is cut off when faxed. Make sure to put your name (first and last), the course name, and number your pages (ex. 1/3, 2/3, 3/3), this is helpful in case there is a problem with the homework.

  • Email your assignments to dedpassignments@mail.und.edu. When emailing you can send your documents as PDF, Word, or Excel format. We are not able to open files created using engineering software. There is a PDF converter located within your Blackboard site under DEDP > DEDP > Technical Support > Software links
  • Fax - If you choose to fax your assignments, fax them to 701.777.6441
  • Blackboard - If you are enrolled in CiEn 431 Environmental Engineering, ChE 515 Design of Engineering Experiments, and/or Phys 252 University Physics II you will be possting your homework assignments to Blackboard. You will need access to a scanner to scan your homework and poost it in a PDF document within Blackboard.

Withdrawal and Dropping
If you need to withdraw (dropping all the classes you are registered in) for the semester, an action request form will need to be filled out online at: http://www.conted.und.edu/ddp/dedp/forms/actionrequest.html (this is an electronic form).

Dropping only one course, if you are registered in more than one course, you can drop it through Campus Connection. Steps for dropping a class; go to Enroll in a class, pick the semester, this will bring up your classes then click on drop a class. You can drop a class within the first 7 days of the semester and get a full refund, after that point there is no refund when dropping a class.

Tuition and fees
You can pay your tuition and fees online through Campus Connection, mail in a check, or use e-check. UND accepts American Express, MasterCard or Discover credit cards.
