Software Installation/Sample Lecture

• Install RealPlayer
  • Click on the RealPlayer link below to begin installing RealPlayer version 10.5 on your computer. This is not the most current version. The current version is not compatible with the online lectures at this time.
• Please follow instructions carefully. Proper installation of RealPlayer will increase the viewing quality of the online lectures. Install RealPlayer
• After the installation is complete, you will be prompted to restart your computer. After the restart, locate RealPlayer on your computer and open it to complete the installation.
  
• Configure RealPlayer for Optimal Performance
• Open RealPlayer.
• From the menu bar, click on Tools . Select Preferences from the drop-down menu that appears.
• Within the Preferences window, click on Connection in the Category box at the left. This will bring up the connection settings. Click the Test Connection button to find the optimal bandwidth setting for your Internet connection. Click the Perform Test button when the Connection Test window appears. If a different bandwidth is suggested, click Update.
• Select Playback Settings from the Category menu to the left. Make sure the box next to Enable Turbo Play is unchecked. You do not want Turbo Play enabled.


• Install ScreenWatch Plugin
  • Click on the following link to download the ScreenWatch plug-in.
  • Select the RealOne plug-in.
  • When asked to run or save the file, select Save and save the file to your desktop.
  • Double-click the swplugin.exe file on your desktop and select Run to install the
    plug-in.
  • After the installation is completed, a pop-up screen will appear to let you know that the plug-in was installed successfully. ScreenWatch Plugin
    
• Play Test Lecture
  • After you have finished installing RealOne Player and the ScreenWatch Plug-in, click on the following test lecture to see if the installation was successful.
  • You should see the presenter and the desktop image of her computer. You should also hear audio. If the Test Lecture plays correctly, then you have installed the RealOne Player and ScreenWatch Plugin successfully.
