Requirements for Online GISc Courses
With the GISc online program, you can earn your
graduate certificate from the University of North
Dakota without interrupting your career. The 12-credit,
semester-based program is designed for working
professionals to complete in one year. At the time
and place of your choice, you will use Web-based
tools to access course materials, submit assignments,
communicate through message boards, participate
in discussions through threaded discussion tools,
take tests, and receive your grades.
In order to participate in the online GISc courses,
you will need to meet the following computer requirements:
- Intel Pentium III OR G4 Processor or Higher
- Minimum of 500 MB of Available Hard Disk Space
- Operating Systems: Windows 2000 or higher
- Internet Connection: 56k Modem (min), DSL/Cable
(preferred)
- Web Browser:
- Internet Explorer Web Browser (version 6.0
or higher)
- Netscape Web Browser (version 7 or higher)
- Mozilla FireFox (version 1.5 or higher);
disable your pop-up blocker while in the course
Note: Your web browser must
be configured to accept cookies (a default setting
in your web browser) and be running Java version
1.5 or newer.
- An active e-mail account
- Download free software:
- Word processing software (Microsoft Word recommended)
- Screen Resolution: 1024x768 pixels or higher
NOTE: You will receive the current
version of the Arc GISc software at no cost. You
will be licensed to use this software for educational
research purposes only.
