Textbooks
Order your textbooks early to ensure you have them in time to begin your
course.
Textbooks are available through
Barnes and Noble Bookstore on the UND campus or online at www.whywaitforbooks.com .
The system will prompt you to register, but will also let you check out
as a guest. The benefit of registering is that you will be able to revisit
your order if you need to make a change.
You can use your financial aid charge account at the bookstore during the
fall and spring semesters. To do so, make sure to enter your EMPLID number
in the required field.
Your textbooks can be shipped, or you can choose to pick them up at the
UIND Barnes and Noble campus bookstore prior to the start of classes.

ethical concepts. Students will examine and debate health policies in current
practice, thus broadening their ability to analyze, implement, and evaluate
health policy issues.

Prerequisites: NURS 566, 567, 568, or consent of instructor.
Principles of assessment, measurement, and evaluation are analyzed in this course
as they relate to nursing education. The processes of assessing student learning,
teaching and program outcomes are explored. Topics relevant to the evaluation
of individual student learning such as test development, evaluation of critical
thinking, and clinical evaluation are included. The processes of faculty and
program evaluation are examined.

Prerequisite: Completion of an undergraduate course in health assessment techniques
and Nurs 510 or its equivalent or consent of instructor. A theory and research-based
approach will be used to present methodologies for graduate student performance
of health histories, developmental assessments, and physical/psychological assessments
of individuals across the lifespan. Communication and interviewing techniques
for advanced nursing practice are applied.
A clinical/laboratory component is included.

This course focuses on use of scientific evidence and nursing/healthcare research
in providing high quality health care and improving nursing practice. The goal
of this course is to prepare graduate nurses who are proficient at evaluation
of published research, identification of problems within the educational, administrative,
or clinical setting that require further study, and application and dissemination
of research to change practice/ education/policy and improve outcomes.
