RN to MS Admissions

Fall Semester - July 16   -   Spring Semester - October 1

MS Nursing Program Admission Requirements

The streamlined RN/MS curriculum allows you to earn your master's degree without first completing the requirements for a bachelor's degree in nursing. You will first apply to UND's undergraduate nursing program after completing at least 45 credits of prerequisite coursework. To be admitted into the RN/MS Program, you must have:

  • An associate degree in nursing from a regionally accredited institution
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 in undergraduate coursework
  • Successful completion of prerequisite coursework in Communication; Social Science; and Math, Science, and Support Courses (see RN/MS Program of Study link)
  • Current, unencumbered RN license in the United States
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as a registered nurse (recommended)
  • An interview

Note: If you do not meet these admission standards, you may be admitted on a provisional basis with continued enrollment contingent on successful completion of pr-requisite coursework and/or successful performance in the program.

Then, after successfully completing 20 credits of nursing coursework at the baccalaureate level, you are eligible to apply to the UND Graduate School for entry into one of the master's specializations.

Steps to Getting Started
