- Windows 95, 98 or 2000 Operating System
- 200 MHZ Pentium Processor or faster
- 32 MB RAM or more
- At least 32 MB of free disk space
- Internet Connection 28.8 or greater
- A web browser, version 5.0 or higher
- Use Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator.
- The AOL browser is not compatible with
Blackboard. (AOL can be used for your Internet
provider, but not as your browser.)
- Download free web browsers from the internet
- Microsoft Internet Explorer - Netscape Navigator.
- Real Player or Microsoft Media Player
- A microphone
- Microsoft Word or Wordperfect preferred
- An active e-mail account (U-mail preferred)
- UND Per_UserID, assigned by UND Computer Center
- NAID number
The Center for Instructional and Learning Technologies "getting
started" web page is at http://www.cilt.und.nodak.edu/gateway/student/ and
addresses some of the basic technical questions about
using Blackboard for the first time. It also includes
a web browser test which will check your web browser
to make sure it is configured appropriately and recommend
any additional plug-ins you may need for the course
(such as Microsoft PowerPoint viewer, Real Player,
etc.).
