Distance Online Degree - Registered Nurse to Bachelor of Science in Nursing (RN/BSN) Degree Completion

RN to BSN Option

Required Non-Nursing Courses
(Typically some of the following credits will be transferred in from other institutions.)

COMMUNICATIONS - a minimum of 9 credits:

  1. English Composition I*
  2. English Composition II or Technical and Business Writing*
  3. Speech, Language, or other option (see page 32 of 2005-2007 UND Catalog)

SOCIAL SCIENCES - a minimum of 9 credits:

  1. Introductory Psychology*
  2. Developmental Psychology*
  3. Introduction to Sociology or Social Problems or Cultural Anthropology*

MATH/SCIENCE - a minimum of 12 credits, including a 4 hour science course with a lab.

  1. Nutrition*
  2. Statistics*

SUPPORT COURSES:

  1. Physiology*
  2. Microbiology*
  3. Pharmacology*
  4. Anatomy*

ARTS AND HUMANITIES - nine semester credits, from a minimum of two departments. See specific listing on pages 32-35 of 2005-2007 UND Catalog.

OTHER GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS:

  1. A minimum of 30 credits completed at UND (includes online and correspondence credits)
  2. A minimum of 60 credits from a four year institution
  3. A minimum of 36 credits of upper division credits (courses numbered 300 or higher)
  4. A minimum of three credits of the course work meeting the World Culture designation (Students cannot fulfill this requirement by taking a CLEP or placement exam.)
  5. A minimum of 15 semester credits completed in Nursing at UND
  6. A total of 129 credits

BSN OPTION
DISTANCE NURSING CURRICULUM SEQUENCE
Effective Fall 2007

Students in the RN/BSN Option program may attend classes either full or part time. If they choose to attend full time, they may be taking some classes on campus with the basic nursing students. The courses listed are the nursing courses remaining for most RN/BSN students after approved transfer of AD nursing credit. In addition, students must complete all requirements listed on back side of this page. Support courses and NLN/Challenge Exams should be completed before beginning College of Nursing courses. A minimum enrollment of 15 is required in order for a course to be offered though distance delivery. Courses with enrollment of less than 15 students two weeks prior to the first day of classes will be cancelled.
