MEGHAN AND SARAH TO LEAVE TELEVISION CENTER
Meghan Flaagan and Sarah McCurdy will be leaving the Television Center. While we are sad to see them leave, we are excited about new opportunities that have been presented to each of them.

Meghan will be attending graduate school at the University of Minnesota. She always had an interest in pursuing an advanced degree and we are thrilled to support her as she makes the transition into a great program. I will miss Meghan's strong work ethic, her great professionalism and the creative ideas she developed for Studio One and the Television Center.

Sarah has been given an opportunity to work for a new magazine that is published in Fargo. As many of you know, Sarah lives in Fargo and commutes to UND every day. Her new job will definitely shorten her drive time to work. I will miss Sarah's writing skills, her creative ways of teaching students and her fantastic laugh.

Sarah's last day is May 10 (graduation day). Meghan's last day is May 30. Both have decided not to hold an event to honor their contribution to UND.

OLLI OPEN HOUSE
OLLI@UND had a wonderful Open House last Wednesday evening. A lot of registrations and new members! It would not have been possible without the help of all those who volunteered to man the registration tables and help anyone who needed assistance. My heart is full with appreciation and gratitude to Jenn Aamodt, Nora Karley, Marsy Schroeder, Robyn von Ruden, Kim Jones, Heidi Flaten, Trish Young, Lynnette Evenson, Kim Pastir and Robin Cook. Thank you so much for your encouragement and support.

A BIG THANK YOU TO EVERYONE AT DCE!

As the end of my one-year tenure here at DCE approaches on May 16, I want to thank everyone for the incredible guidance and support you have provided me. Thanks to you, I have grown significantly in this past year and continue to develop in my professional career in marketing. Although I am moving on to different pastures, I will never forget my time here at DCE and all the incredible people I was privileged to work with. You will all be missed!

I am currently seeking employment in the Twin Cities area, and will be living in Plymouth, MN (a western suburb) for the next year. I'll be sure to stay in touch through Doodles, so you haven't heard the last of me yet! Thanks!!!

2 DCE EMPLOYEES IN RELAY FOR LIFE EVENTS
Hello folks!! It is that exciting time again -Grand Forks is gearing up for Relay for Life for the American Cancer Society. The event is on Friday, May 30 in University Park here in Grand Forks. It gives our community an opportunity to remember those who lost their battle with cancer and to honor the survivors who are still with us.

My team won the talent show last year and was in the upper level of fundraising for the American Cancer Society, and we want to do even better this year.

Money raised goes to cancer research, treatment/lodging expenses for patients, awareness campaigns, etc. There are a few ways you can contribute:

A cash or check donation to the American Cancer Society - any $ amount is greatly appreciated

Purchase a luminary bag (white bag with the name of someone who lost his or her battle with cancer or someone who is a survivor, and has a candle in it to light the walking path of the relay) - $5 cash or check and the name of the person you want on the bag ( I have bags at my desk for you to decorate)

Come out and walk!!! Everyone is encouraged to come to University Park and walk the path, enjoy food, play games and celebrate the event!
I will need all donations by May 28.
Thank you in advance for your donation and support!

Kari Holter

I am going to do the Relay for Life walk with my sisters in Bismarck on May 30, 2008 to raise money for a cancer cure. If anyone would like to sponsor me, I would appreciate it. Let me know.

Thanks,

Vicki Thompson

FUND RAISER RUMMAGE SALE FOR RELLER BOYS
The Reller boys are on Team Flickertails and have qualified for the Destination ImagiNation Global finals in Knoxville, Tennessee (see GF Herald article below). We are having a huge fund-raiser rummage sale.

Team Flickertails preps for Destination ImagiNation
Susanne Nadeau
Grand Forks Herald - 05/03/2008
The Flickertails are readying for action. Just give them eight minutes.
The Grand Forks team, made up of creative 9- and 10-year-old elementary students, will flex its brainpower at the Destination ImagiNation global finals May 21-24 in Knoxville, Tenn.
The Flickertails — 10-year-old Sequoia Pinterits and 9-year-olds Blaine Helleloid, Bryce Reller and Mychael Reller — qualified for the event after winning a statewide competition April 5 in Casselton, N.D. The winning eight-minute skit was about a secret and involved an optical illusion, said parent and team manager Duane Helleloid.
The team was formed as part of the Grand Forks Community for Creative Children, a program created to promote creative problem solving skills in students of all ages.
They’ve been practicing the play for the global finals and have practiced instant challenges,” Helleloid said. An instant challenge could be to take a bag of miscellaneous materials and construct a sculpture with them, in only eight minutes.
The Destination ImagiNation program operates in 50 states and more than 30 countries.

The team is seeking sponsorships and conducting fundraisers to offset the cost of participating. So we’re having a rummage sale—see below.
