EXTRA HOUR PERK FOR PROGRAM ASSISTANTS/SUPPORT STAFF
Dean Riedy has approved all program assistants/support staff a wonderful perk - which is an "extra hour" that must be used by December 21. The extra hour perk must be approved by your supervisor and also organized through your floor/department staff so that there are not multiple people gone at the same time. If you have any questions on the extra hour perk and how it works, or who is eligible, please feel free to ask any of the Personnel Advisory Group (PAG) members.Thank you for all you do and enjoy your "extra hour."
PAG Representatives: Diana LeTexier, Lynette Krenelka, Kim Pastir, Odella Fuqua, Lori Shafer, Marsy Schroeder, Kristi Swartz, and Connie Jones
CASUAL DRESS DAYS
Dean Riedy also has approved PAG's request to allow employees to dress in casual wear for the workdays between December 24 and 28. So come to work in comfort for a few days during the holidays. We also understand that you may have meetings, interviews, etc., that dictate more professional attire. If you have any questions on what is appropriate in your department, please contact your supervisor.

I’d like to thank the individuals who nominated me for the DCE Development Award. I’ve been at DCE for about a year and a half now, and I’m very grateful that I was given the opportunity to work with almost every program in DCE in one way or another. I’ve learned a lot, I’ve gotten to know you all a little better, and even feel I’ve made some good friends along the way. I know there are a lot of DCE employees who are just as deserving, if not more so, of receiving recognition. I also want to offer my congratulations to all of the other 2007 DCE award winners. I’m really touched and feel even more energized to give my very best to DCE in the coming New Year!

MAGAZINE SHARE
I have donated a couple of magazines for "recycling." They are on the bottom shelves across from Cyndee's desk. I'm wondering if there are others out there who would like to recycle their magazines. If you have magazines that would be of interest to recycle, please bring them in to put on the shelves. When you are finished reading a magazine, please replace it on the shelf for others to enjoy.Jane Sims

“Good King Wenceslas looked out
On the Feast of Stephen
When the snow lay round about
Deep and crisp and even . . .”A few Saturdays ago, between rounds of shoveling snow, I was lying on the couch watching a network news report about how to hand wash a sweater composed of delicate fabric (yes, you can describe what I view on television as eclectic if not borderline weird). The reporter’s repeated instruction to “lie it [sweater] flat” after rinsing had laid me low. The reporter should have been equally concerned about the indelicate use of language in the report. A sweater will be lying flat after you lay it flat on the counter.
