Knut Djupedal
Knut Djupedal is the director of Norway’s only museum devoted solely to the history of the Norwegians who emigrated to overseas destinations and to those who came back. He will discuss the records and resources collected in Norway relating to emigration to the United States. 

 

Liv Marit Haakenstad

Author, researcher and speaker, Liv Marit Haakenstad from Hamar, Norway, will present researching "Genealogy in Norway." Resources and tips for doing Norwegian Genealogy – especially unique resources for finding those elusive ancestors based on Liv Marit's Biri in Oppland research where 50 years of Church books were missing.

 

Jean Marthaler

Jean Marthaler has been researching Norwegian genealogy and history for years.  She will discuss various Norwegian and American resources used in doing research. She will describe a wide variety of resources available from the Internet and from written and human sources.  During her presentation she will share her experiences solving the mysteries of Norwegian Heritage.

 

Jeffrey M. Svare

Jeff Svare’s presentation will describe the history of the Genealogical Society of Utah's (GSU) records preservation efforts in Scandinavia focusing on the types of records acquired, along with strategies for their use coupled with materials placed online by the GSU and other agencies.  He will discuss current projects using the GSU’s collection of Norwegian materials and will also share information on collections the GSU is interested in acquiring and publishing in the next few years.
